                                What Every Season Brings                            

Vancouver have four seasons, and each one is very diferent. For international students, it's important to know what to spect in each season because the weather change a lot, also the clothes, the activities, and sometimes the prices too. Winter go from December to February and can be very rainy, in Vancouver, it don’t snow much, but it rains a lot almost every day. Is important to have a good water jacket and shoes that don’t get wet. Even if it’s not so cold like in other parts of Canada, the wind and rain make you feel more colder. But winter is also time for snow activites like ski or snowboard. You can go to Grouse Mountain or Cypress, they are very close. Some students take cheap bus to Whistler also. Plus, in winter there is Christmas lights in downtown and in places like Capilano and VanDusen Garden, and they look really beautiful. Spring is from March to May, the weather start be more nice, but it still raining sometimes. Trees and flowers begin grow and the city is very green. A lot of students like walking in the parks or riding bikes. Spring have festivals like Cherry Blossom Festival and also the farmers market start to open again. It’s good moment for enjoy more outside. Summer is from June to August, It’s hot but not too much, usually around 25 degrees. It almost never rains and the days are very long, sometimes the sun go down after 9:30 p.m. Many people goes to the beach like English Bay or Kitsilano, and there is many free events in the city. 
You can watch concerts, fireworks, and food festivals. Some students also use summer for working or travel. Is good time for camping or visit lakes. But remember that in summer, rent can go more expensive and places with tourists are more full. Fall is from September to November, the weather begin to be cold and the trees change color, theyturn red and orange and is really nice. But also the rain start again. Students back to school and everything feel more busy. It’s good time to start prepare your winter clothes and buy umbrella if you don’t have. In conclusion, Vancouver has all the seasons and every one have something special. If you know how is the weather and what to do, you enjoy more and don’t get surprised. Just bring the correct clothes and try new activites in each season.

When I first moved to Vancouver to study, I knew I would take some time to settle in and find new people.
